A civilian Unified Fire Authority worker was seriously injured when his pickup rolled two to three times along Highway 201 on Tuesday morning.

Unified Fire Authority Capt. Clint Smith said the man in his mid-40s was driving westbound near 7200 West when his pickup collided with a semi.

Witnesses said the impact flipped the pickup "two, possibly three times," Smith said.

The man, who works in UFA's logistics division, was extricated and flown to Intermountain Medical Center in serious condition.

He initially was unconscious, but Smith said the man regained consciousness by the time the helicopter left.

The semi driver was not injured.

Smith said both vehicles were driving westbound, but he was not sure what caused the collision. Utah Highway Patrol will investigate the accident.

UT-201 was closed at 5600 West while crews cleaned up the wreckage, Smith said.
