A driver rolled his Chevrolet Trailblazer near Wendover early Monday, killing the passenger.

The 36-year-old driver, from Salt Lake County, was driving east along Interstate 80 near Wendover at 4:06 a.m. when he drifted off to the left side of the road and overcorrected to the right, rolling the Trailblazer five times, said Utah Highway Patrol spokesman Brian Hyer.

The Trailblazer landed upright about 30 feet from the highway, Hyer said.

The passenger, 36-year-old Raul Luna, from Roy, died of his injuries at the scene. Hyer said the driver was flown to the University of Utah Medical Center in serious condition and is expected to survive.

It appears alcohol was involved in the accident, which is still under investigation, Hyer said.
