Skateboard used as weapon in Salt Lake City robbery

Salt Lake City police say robbers beat a man with his own skateboard, sending him to the hospital with serious injuries.

About 2 a.m. Saturday, the 21-year-old man was riding his skateboard on 800 South near 200 East. Three men attacked him and hit him with the skateboard, knocked him unconscious and took his wallet, police said. The bandits were last seen traveling south on 200 East.

The skateboarder went to a hospital in serious condition. Anyone with information in this case can contact Salt Lake City police at 801-799-3000.
