A motorcycle ride honoring Utah National Guard soldier Brandon Thomas, who was killed in Iraq while working as a security contractor, will be held Saturday, May 9, in Provo.

Previous runnings of "Brandon's Ride" have drawn hundreds of bikers, raising money to help support the families of fallen and wounded U.S. military members.

This year's ride will begin at Escape Motorsports, 1480 N. State St., in Provo and follow a 110-mile route through Heber, Duchesne, Helper and Spanish Fork, before returning to Provo.

Thomas, an avid motorcyclist, was killed May 7, 2005, in Baghdad when the convoy of vehicles in which he was riding was hit by a car bomb.

Registration for the event, which costs $15, will be conducted onsite from 9 to 10:30 a.m. or can be made in advance at brandonsride.blogspot.com.
