A bus carrying members of a youth choir group from Payson High School and a tractor trailer collided this morning during a snow storm On Interstate 15, with minor injuries reported.

The crash occurred about 4:30 a.m. in Baker Canyon, about 21 miles south of Fillmore, said Utah Highway Patrol Sgt. Ted Tingey. Several passengers in the bus and the truck driver suffered minor injuries and were taken to a hospital in Fillmore.

Tingey said the truck lost control while traveling north on the icy road and overturned. The cab separated from its trailer and spilled boxes of kitchen cabinets along the interstate.

The bus, carrying 52 people including the students, was also traveling north, Tingey said. The driver tried to avoid the trailer but clipped the side. Several people complained of minor neck and back pain, Tingey said.

Most of the bus occupants were taken in another bus to an armory in Fillmore to wait for rides back to Payson.

Part of I-15 was closed for a short time while the trailer and boxes were removed from the road.
