A 19-year-old West Haven man was arrested Saturday for allegedly shattering the windows and glass doors of several cars and homes and an LDS church.

The Weber County Sheriff's Office said the vandalism occurred about 5:45 a.m. at the church near 2300 South and 2700 West. The cars and homes that were damaged were in the same area.

Dispatchers received numerous calls concerning the vandalized cars, the sheriff's office reported. When deputies arrived, they stopped and spoke with a 19-year-old man who had bits of glass in his hair. Deputies canvassed the area and found the damaged homes and vehicles as well as broken doors and windows at the church.

The man was booked into Weber County jail on suspicion of public intoxication, illegal consumption and criminal mischief.

Property damage was estimated at more than $10,000.
