Posted: 9:51 AM- A motorist wrecked his car in Ogden then stole a delivery van from a driver who stopped to help him, the Utah Highway Patrol says.

About 8:15 a.m. Friday, the man crashed his passenger car into a median barrier in the southbound lanes of Interstate 15 near 31st Street. Multiple people stopped to help the motorist, said Utah Highway Patrol Sgt. Jeff Nigbur.

One of those people lending aid was a delivery driver for a bakery, Nigbur said, and while he was outside of his van, the motorist who had crashed his car got into the van and drove away.

The bakery van is described as plain white with no markings. The suspect is described as white man, about 5 feet 10 inches tall with a slight build, wearing blue jeans and a gray hooded sweatshirt.

Anyone with information in the case can contact UHP in Weber County by calling 801-629-8221.
