Three men lost near Inspiration Point were found safe Saturday evening by Box Elder County search and rescue teams. The men - a father and son from Davis County and another man - were hunting mountain goats when they became lost on a trail between Inspiration Point and Ben Lomond Peak. They called search and rescue by cell phone about 4 p.m., said Box Elder County Sheriff's Sgt. Steve Berry. They were found about 8:30 p.m. The trail, which is at an elevation of about 9,000 feet, is located in rugged mountains. The area received 8 inches of snow, creating slushy conditions for rescue workers.

Possible arson string continues in Ogden

For the second time in two days, an abandoned house at 1832 Keisel Ave. in Ogden caught fire Thursday night. It marked the eighth fire since May in a cluster of abandoned houses located near 1800 South and Keisel Avenue. Police are investigating the fires as arson, possibly by one person. Anyone with information is asked to call Ogden police at 801-395-8221.

Trio steals beer and flees in minivan

Salt Lake City police are searching for three men who robbed a 7-Eleven on Saturday and escaped with two cases of beer. One of the men entered the 7-Eleven at 1690 S. 900 West about 4:50 p.m., grabbed the beer and ran out of the store, said Salt Lake City police Lt. Scott White. The store clerk hurdled the counter and ran after the man, who had jumped into a green minivan along 1700 South. Another man inside the van brandished what police believe was a 9 mm handgun, White said. There were three men in the minivan, likely a 2000 or 2002 Chrysler or Plymouth, with dark tinted windows and temporary license tags, he said. The men are described as Latino, he said. Vandals smash $500 worth of pumpkins

West Jordan police are looking for someone who smashed about 300 pumpkins at a pumpkin patch Thursday night or Friday morning. Schmidt's Pumpkin Patch, 2200 West and 9000 South, lost about $500 worth of pumpkins, smashed on the nearby road, said West Jordan police Sgt. Clint Hodgkinson. Anyone with information is asked to call West Jordan police at 801-840-4000.

Crash causes power outage

A semitrailer collided with an electrical line in Utah County on Saturday, causing a power outage that left about 10,000 Spanish Fork residents without electricity for about four hours. The semi, which was hauling construction equipment, was eastbound on U.S. Highway 6 near 400 North in Spanish Fork when it hit an overhead cable-TV line and then hit the electrical line about 11 a.m., said Spanish Fork police Sgt. Matt Johnson. No one was injured.

Quake in Rich County

A minor earthquake occurred in northern Utah's Rich County on Saturday, the University of Utah's earthquake center reported. The earthquake, which happened at 9:26 p.m. near Randolph, registered a magnitude 3.3. No report of injuries or major damage was received by the Rich County Sheriff's Office as of 10 p.m.
