Posted: 9:27 PM- Three men lost near Inspiration Point were found safe Saturday evening by Box Elder County search and rescue teams. As of 9:15 p.m., they were making their way down the mountain.

The men - a father and son from Davis County and another man - were hunting mountain goats when they became lost on a trail between Inspiration Point and Ben Lomond Peak in Box Elder County. They called search and rescue by cell phone about 4 p.m., said Box Elder County Sheriff's Sgt. Steve Berry.

The hunters had arrived in the area on four-wheelers, but weren't able to find the spot where they had left the vehicles once they started walking, Berry said.

Search and rescue workers canvassed the area on ATVs. The father and son were found around 8:30 p.m. near Inspiration Point. The third man was found waiting with the group's ATVs, Berry said.

The trail, which is at an elevation of about 9,000 feet, is located in rugged mountains of southern Box Elder County. The area received 8 inches of snow, creating slushy conditions for rescue workers.

Berry said the men were treated for mild hypothermia, but other than being cold, were in good spirits.
