A man was hospitalized in serious condition Friday night when one man stabbed another man in the stomach during a road rage incident. The stabbing occurred in South Jordan at about 7:20 p.m. near the intersection of 10400 S. Redwood Road. Lt. Matt Evans said that one man cut off the other man while driving and the two pulled to the side of the road. The men yelled at each other and then started fighting, Evans said. During the fight, one of the men stabbed the other in the stomach. Both then returned to their cars and waited for police to arrive. The injured man was taken to a local hospital in serious condition. The man who allegedly had the knife was being questioned by police. No arrests have been made.

Man charged with attempted homicide

A 27-year-old man was charged Friday with attempted homicide and aggravated robbery for allegedly taking another man's wallet and then shooting him in the leg. The attack occurred May 23 in the parking lot of a business at 1300 S. Redwood Road. According to charging documents, the 27-year-old man drove into the parking lot, yelled at the second man, who was outside waiting for a friend, to come to the car and get in. When he did, the driver hit the other man on the head with a gun, asked for his wallet, money and watch and shot him in the leg. The two began driving away when the man who was robbed drew a knife. But the driver took it from him, police said. The car then struck two other vehicles, police said. Both men were taken to the hospital. The charges against the 27-year-old are both first-degree felonies. He is also charged with aggravated assault and possession of a firearm by a restricted person, both second-degree felonies.
