The Utah Transit Authority will host an open house tonight to discuss its planned bicycle transit center.

The idea is for a center that would serve as a park-and-ride area for people who access mass transit by bike, with such features as secure indoor parking, a repair center, showers, refreshments, maps and information. The agency is cooperating on the planning with the Utah Department of Transportation and the Salt Lake City Mayor's Bicycle Advisory Committee.

The meeting is from 5 to 7 p.m. at UTA's Salt Lake Central Station transit hub, 250 S. 600 West, in Salt Lake City.
