Posted: 2:07 PM- Power has been restored to about 6,100 households in the Emigration/Sugar House area of Salt Lake City.
The outage started at 11:22 a.m. Sunday, caused by a squirrel that got into electrical equipment at the Emigration substation, said Rocky Mountain Power spokesman Jeff Hymas. All power was restored by 1:07 p.m., he said.
The area affected stretched from about 1100 East to about 2300 East, and from about 800 South to about 1400 South. Another section extended from 1400 South to 2100 South.
