Posted: 9:56 AM- Police have identified a 15-year-old boy who died in a car accident as he left the Utah State Fair Thursday.
Isaac Martinez was riding west in a Honda Accord with four other people when the car stopped at a red light at a pedestrian crossing at 1200 W. North Temple, said Salt Lake City Police spokesman Lara Jones. About 11 p.m., a 19-year-old man driving an SUV, also westbound, did not see the Honda and plowed into the back of the car. Martinez, who was riding in the back seat, later died of his injuries.
Another back-seat passenger suffered critical injuries and a 2-year-old child suffered minor injuries, as did two people in the front seats.
Police are investigating to decide if charges should be filed, Jones said in a statement. -Lindsay Whitehurst
