Posted: 1:15 PM- A bicyclist was critically injured when he was clipped by a commercial van's side-view mirror near 2880 West and 500 South in Salt Lake City, police said.
A break or crack in the road may have caused the westbound cyclist to suddenly swerve into the van's westbound path at about 7:30 p.m. Thursday, said Salt Lake City police spokesman Lara Jones. He was hit in the back of the head with the commercial box van's mirror.
The 59-year-old cyclist suffered head injuries but is in stable condition, Jones said.
