Posted: 4:07 PM- Rosamond Elementary School Principal Shelley A. Nordick - who some say is a pawn in a feud between the Salt Lake County Sheriff's Office and the Jordan School District over the district's child-abuse reporting policy - will take her case to a jury.
Nordick, 46, was charged with a class B misdemeanor in the Riverton City Justice Court for allegedly failing to report the actions of Rosamond teacher Frank Laine Hall, who was arrested in March 2007 and later convicted of sexually abusing 11 of his first-grade students.
A lieutenant in the Sheriff's Office, however, said police didn't want to prosecute Nordick, but wanted to know if the school district's child-abuse reporting policy needed fixing.
On Monday, a Nov. 20 court date was set for a jury to hear Nordick's case. She will appear before Judge Gregory Bown.
