Posted: 10:42 AM- A family barbecue turned ugly when a 35-year-old man attacked his nephew with kitchen knives.
The family was cooking outside at a West Valley City home near 4900 West and 3800 South.
An affidavit filed with the Salt Lake County Jail said the suspect had been drinking at the family event Sunday. He then he began arguing with his nephew and throwing beer bottles, a probable cause statement claims.
The man then ran inside the home, grabbed two knives and allegedly came after his nephew, then fled from the area. Police picked him up a mile away.
