The Utah Transit Authority has expanded its board to reflect the Legislature's directive that the bus and train agency include state representation.

Until now the board has been appointed by local governments in UTA's Wasatch Front service area. A legislative audit of the agency suggested more state oversight, and lawmakers agreed last winter.

The new members are Utah House Chief of Staff Chris Bleak and Utah Growth Commission member Justin Allen, appointed by Gov. Jon Huntsman Jr. Utah Transportation Commission member Kent Millington becomes a full voting member after serving on the UTA board in an advisory role. The Legislature has one spot left to fill on the 19-member board.

Also Wednesday, UTA announced Utah County Commissioner Larry Ellertson, already a board member, will replace Orrin Colby as board president. Colby will remain on the board.
