The Utah Chapters of the Japanese American Citizen League on Sunday held a Memorial Day service to commemorate the sacrifices and honor the services of the U.S. Army's 100th Infantry Battalion, the 442nd Regimental Combat Team and the Military Intelligence Service, and all Japanese-American veterans who have died. The event — hosted in conjunction of the Dai Ichi Ward of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, the Japanese Church of Christ and the Salt Lake Buddhist Temple — took place at the the World War II Japanese-American veterans monument in Salt Lake City Cemetery.
