Silicon Slopes, a nonprofit that promotes startups and the tech industry in Utah, opened a new headquarters on Wednesday.

The group has moved from an office in Provo to Lehi at Thanksgiving Point, where space was donated by STACK Realty. The company has been developing the area into one of the high-tech centers of Utah.

Gov. Gary Herbert held a short question and answer session and some of Utah's top tech company executives also were on hand to open the 5,000-square-foot office at 2600 W. Executive Parkway. Provo Mayor John Curtis was presented with the group's first Silicon Slopes Community Hero Award.
