A man is dead and a woman is in the hospital after their SUV rolled in Emery County on Monday.

The crash occurred about 4:30 p.m. on eastbound Interstate 70, near Green River, said Utah Highway Patrol Trooper Jared Cornia.

The SUV drifted off the road to the left, a UHP news release said, and after the male driver steered the vehicle back onto the road, he overcorrected and the vehicle rolled multiple times.

The man died at the scene, Cornia said, and the woman was transported by ambulance, then helicopter, to St. Mary's Hospital in Grand Junction, Colo.

The vehicle's occupants, both 26, appeared to be wearing seat belts, the release said. Police had not released their identities Monday night, pending notification of the man's family.
