Police have released the name of a 24-year-old man who died Saturday in a South Salt Lake car crash.

Police identified Randy Gblah, of West Valley City, as the victim. They had identified him as a 25-year-old over the weekend and corrected his age Monday.

The southbound sedan in which Gblah was riding veered off the road about 3 p.m. and slammed into a light pole and gate outside a car dealership, South Salt Lake police spokesman Gary Keller said. The protruding end of the metal gate impaled the windshield, Keller said. Gblah was the passenger in the car, and the driver was transported to a hospital and later released. The driver was arrested on charges unrelated to the crash, Keller said.

Keller said the cause of the crash is under investigation.
