South Ogden • Authorities say a man found dead in an area ravaged by a tornado died of an accidental drug overdose, and not as a result of the severe weather.

The Standard-Examiner reported Tuesday that 28-year-old Cody Lee Wills likely died before the September tornado. The information comes from a medical examiner's report obtained by the paper through a public records request.

Officials say that Wills' body was discovered by public works crews while they were cleaning a storm grate two hours after the tornado.

Two tornadoes touched down hundreds of miles apart in Utah in September, damaging about 25 buildings and knocking out power to thousands of people.

The severe weather also flooded streets and dropped golf-ball-sized hail in some areas.
