Salt Lake City's urban forestry workers got a helping hand Friday from a group of second-graders from Parkview Elementary.

The children helped plant trees at the southwest corner of Jordan Park, at 1060 S. 900 West, and received a demonstration about the importance of trees and the best way to care for them.

"Trees are assets to our city," Tony Gliot, the city's urban forestry manager, said in a news release. "They improve our air quality, cool our neighborhoods and promote an overall sense of good health in our communities."
