Two Utah County women arrested during a December traffic stop with $28,000 worth of methamphetamine, heroin and prescription painkillers have been sentenced to probation.

Kelli Dawn Clark, 38, of Springville, was stopped by police in Orem on Dec. 12 for texting while driving, police have said.

Clark and passenger Breanna Jenee Ketler, 26, also of Springville, had earlier drawn law enforcement attention when spotted making several stops to meet with known drug users.

Charged with numerous crimes, Clark pleaded guilty in 4th District Court last month to first-degree felony drug possession with intent to distribute, second-degree felony drug possession and class B misdemeanor driving with a measurable amount of a controlled substance in her system.

On Tuesday, Judge Robert Lunnen suspended potential prison time for Clark and placed her on probation for 36 months. During that time she must complete the Other Side Academy, in which students learn vocational, pro-social, and life skills so they can succeed on "the other side," according to the school's website.

Ketler, who pleaded guilty to second-degree felony drug possession and two misdemeanor drug possession counts, was sentenced last month to 36 months probation. She was ordered to pay a $1,079 fine, obtain a substance abuse evaluation and complete any recommended treatment.
