Police are looking for three suspects in connection with a shooting Wednesday morning at a motel in Harrisville.

The victim, a male in his late 20s, has been released from the hospital after a bullet grazed his head just before 6 a.m., according to Harrisville Lt. Keith Wheelwright.

Three friends — two men and a woman — had picked up the man from work and driven him to the extended stay motel, at the junction of Wall Avenue and Highway 89, said Wheelwright, and when the friends returned later, there was a dispute about money.

One of the men pulled a handgun, and shot the victim's head, Wheelwright said.

The motel rooms are small, Wheelwright said, and police believe the two were in very close proximity.

Police don't know whether the suspect intended to shoot the victim in the head and missed, since they haven't yet spoken to the shooter, Wheelwright said. Police are still investigating.
