Authorities have identified a man killed when his car crashed on State Road 65 in Summit County.

David Cook, 52, died about 12:30 a.m. Sunday when his vehicle left the road and collided with a tree at high speed, the Utah Highway Patrol said.

Troopers had been in the area of East Canyon looking for Cook in connection with an earlier domestic dispute call at a home in the Jeremy Ranch neighborhood.

Cook died on impact, UHP reported.

The accident remained under investigation by UHP, while the Summit County Sheriff's Office was looking into the earlier domestic incident.
