A Sunday night shooting left a South Salt Lake man in the hospital and police on the hunt for suspects.

South Salt Lake police spokesman Gary Keller said officers responding to an unrelated medical call 9:30 p.m. Sunday at the Mountain Shadows Apartments, 3765 S. Shadow Glen Lane (655 West), heard gunfire — and the sound of cars speeding away.

Officers then found the 37-year-old victim, Tegan Robbins, of Sandy, inside a vehicle with what proved to be a non-life threatening gunshot wound to the head. He was taken to the hospital in fair condition.

Witnesses reported hearing a loud argument prior to the gunfire. Police found drug paraphernalia littering the area of the shooting scene.

Robbins, according to 3rd District Court records, has a criminal record including drug possession, use and distribution charges as well as theft and theft by deception.

Anyone with information on this case is asked to call SLCPD at 801-840-4000.
