A West Bountiful woman who survived the London terror attack that killed her husband and injured dozens of others is in good spirits and making steady progress in her recovery.

Melissa Payne Cochran remained in a London hospital on Friday but is "getting stronger every day," said her brother Clint Payne on a brief photo update posted on GoFundMe (https://www.gofundme.com/melissaandkurt) and Facebook (https://www.facebook.com/clint.payne.5).

Inquiries to Payne about when his sister might be able to return to Utah were not immediately answered Friday.

Kurt and Melissa, who ran a recording studio out of their home, were on the final day of a 25th wedding anniversary trip to Europe when tragedy struck on March 22.

An Islamic State-linked terrorist drove an SUV onto the crowded Westminster Bridge, sending Kurt Cochran plunging onto a concrete landing below. He died of extensive injuries, one of four people killed in the attack.

The terrorist, Khalid Masood, rammed a gate outside the Parliament grounds and fatally stabbed a police officer before being shot to death by other officers.

Melissa Cochran suffered severe injuries to her left leg and has been recovering after surgery.

As of Friday afternoon, the Kurt Cochran Memorial Relief Fund on GoFundMe had raised nearly $78,000 from just under 2,000 donors.
