A multivehicle crash resulted in one fatality and closed down northbound lanes on wet Interstate 15 in Draper for five hours Monday.

The crashes occurred about 12:45 p.m., Utah Highway Patrol Sgt. Todd Royce confirmed, in the area of 11400 South and 12300 South on northbound I-15.

A large box truck appeared to have been avoiding a car that had lost control, Royce said, when it went sideways on the freeway. An RV then crashed into the driver side door of the truck, Royce said, killing the truck's male driver.

At least two other vehicles were involved in the crash, Royce said, but all other injuries appeared to be minor.
