Police were searching Friday for a 59-year-old fisherman whom they believe fell into the water while unloading a boat at Flaming Gorge National Recreation Area.

The Daggett County Sheriff's Office was alerted of a "suspicious vehicle" at the Cedar Springs Marina boat ramp about 8:30 a.m., according to a news release from the sheriff's office. Deputies found a truck with a boat trailer backed into the water that was running but unoccupied, the release said. And the boat, also unoccupied, was loose from the trailer.

Police believe the man may have had problems unloading the boat and fell into the water. He was presumed drowned, the release said, and multiple agencies began recovery efforts.

Divers were on the scene about 5 p.m., the release said, and additional agencies were en route to help with underwater search efforts.

The search was suspended for the night and is scheduled to resume at 7 a.m.
