A woman is dead after a two vehicles crashed in Ogden late Thursday morning.

A car was heading south on Harrison Boulevard, crossed the center median near 1800 South, and struck the side of a northbound SUV at about 11 a.m., said Ogden police Lt. Nate Cline.

The road was snowy, Cline said, but police were investigating the exact cause of the crash, as well as which vehicle was at fault.

Brenda Gallegos, a 51-year-old woman from Ogden, died at the scene and had been a passenger in the car, Cline said. The car's driver suffered injuries that were not life-threatening and was taken to a hospital for treatment. The driver and a passenger in the SUV were not injured, police said.

Police had not released the identity of the woman, pending notification to next of kin.

Police reported conditions in the area were "good," but asked that people drive safely.
