A man died in a car crash Thursday in Washington County.

Nathan Boone, 43, lost control while driving west on State Route 59 near Hildale. The road was wet, according to Utah Highway Patrol, and his car spun into the eastbound lane where a car struck it.

Boon "lost control," said UHP Trooper Lawrence Hopper, "because of excessive speed." He died at the scene, police say.

The other driver was transported to Dixie Regional Medical Center with injuries that were not life-threatening.
