Police on Friday found a missing 24-year-old southern Utah man with a history of mental illness and making deadly threats.

David Grant Torrey had last been seen near Hurricane on Thursday evening. St. George police initially though he may be headed to Salt Lake City on a bus.

Instead, he was located in neighboring Hurricane late Friday morning, police there confirmed.

He was considered to be in danger because of mental health concerns, police say.

In May 2015, Torrey was arrested in Cedar City in connection with threats he had made while an Iron County jail inmate months earlier. Along with allegedly threatening a sheriff's sergeant, he allegedly wrote notes to jail staff about bombing the jail and the White House.
