A 15-year-old driver careened off a hill in West Jordan late Friday night, critically injuring another minor in the car.

The unlicensed driver was traveling west on Mountain View Corridor (5800 West) with two 14-year-old boys and another 15-year-old boy about 11:30 p.m., said West Jordan police Sgt. Keith Bronson. The driver drifted to the side of the road near 9200 South, overcorrected and rolled the car off the hill.

The 15-year-old passenger suffered injuries, including a possibly broken leg, after he was ejected from the car. He was found unresponsive, Bronson said. Another boy remained in the hospital Saturday; the two others were released.

The boys allegedly told police they had smoked marijuana 30 minutes before the crash, Bronson said. Officers were unsure how they got the keys to a family member's car.
