Police confirm that a 55-year-old Hurricane woman injured in a car crash late last week on southern Utah's State Route 9 has died.

The Hurricane Police Department identified the victim as Adela Castillo.

Castillo had been in critical condition after a westbound GMC Sierra pickup truck collided with the eastbound Chevy Colorado pickup as it turned into her path near 3400 W. State Street last Thursday night.

The male driver of the Colorado was taken to Dixie Regional Medical Center in serious condition. Castillo, a passenger in that same vehicle, died the following day, police said.

The driver and a passenger in the GMC, both males, were unhurt, police said.

The accident remained under investigation on Monday.
