After Thursday's brush with winter, blue skies and rising temperatures are making a return statewide.

"We're starting a warming trend going into the weekend," said National Weather Service meteorologist Mike Conger.

Valley rains and mountain snows are in the forecast for Monday, from St. George to Logan, with another weak storm expected to arrive Wednesday night and lingering through Thursday. Thanksgiving revelers can expect "probably not much of an impact," Conger said.

Highs in Salt Lake City and Provo were expected to reach the mid-40s on Friday, rising into the 50s on Saturday and Sunday; Ogden and Brigham City will be slightly cooler, with Friday's highs in the low 40s and weekend highs in the low 50s. In Logan, Friday's daytime temperatures are expected to remain in the 30s, rising to the low 50s by Sunday.

In St. George, highs were expected to reach 59 on Friday and the mid-60s this weekend. Cedar City was projected to be somewhat cooler, with a Friday high of just 42 and weekend highs in the 50s.

Eastern Utah was expected to remain slightly cooler, with temperatures in Vernal remaining in the 30s on Friday and lows in the teens overnight; highs were expected in the 40s there this weekend. Highs in Price were expected to hover in the upper 40s and lower 50s throughout the weekend, with Friday night lows dipping to 19 degrees.

Moab remained under a freeze warning until mid-morning Friday, and lows were projected to dip back into the teens overnight — but temperatures were expected to rise quickly, reaching 61 on Sunday.
