A wild rolling shootout between two vehicles in west Salt Lake City's Glendale neighborhood had gang detectives on the lookout for multiple suspects.

Salt Lake City police Detective Robert Ungricht said public safety dispatchers began receiving 911 calls at 7:48 p.m. Tuesday, reporting gunfire from a gold-colored Toyota passenger car chasing a dark-colored Chevrolet Avalanche or Cadillac Escalade, as they raced through the area of 800 South and Emery Street (1150 West).

Ungricht said Wednesday that the suspects — for whom there were no descriptions — remained at large, and police had not received any reports of gunshot wounds or bullet damage to houses in the area related to the chase.

However, officers did find numerous shell casings on the street.

Gang Unit detectives are investigating the incident.
