A Murray man involved in an Amber Alert last month — when he allegedly sexually abused a boy he'd met online during a kidnapping — has been charged in another kidnapping case.

Weston Ray Kubbe, 37, has been charged in 2nd District Court with two counts of first-degree felony kidnapping, one count of first-degree felony aggravated child sex abuse and one second-degree felony count of enticing a minor for his "dating" relationship with an 11-year-old boy, charges state.

On Wednesday, Kubbe was charged with an additional two counts of second-degree felony kidnapping, two counts of third-degree felony child endangerment and four counts of third-degree felony possession of a firearm by a restricted person for a relationship he had with a 14-year-old boy, who he also met on the internet.

Kubbe took the 14-year-old boy to his home twice without permission from the boys' guardians, charges state. During both of those encounters Kubbe gave the boy marijuana, charges say, and also gave him THC gummy bears on the second visit.

Kubbe allegedly touched the boy inappropriately during the first visit on Sept. 28 and asked whether the boy wanted to reciprocate. During the second visit, which was an overnight stay from Oct. 8 to Oct. 9 in Kubbe's home, the 11 year-old — who Kubbe said was his "boyfriend" — was also present, charges state. Kubbe apparently drove both the boys home in the morning.

The 11-year-old's parents contacted police on Oct. 10 after their child was missing from his home, and police issued the Amber Alert. Kubbe told police he'd met the boy online weeks before and would "meet the child at an area near his school, and they would do things together," charges state.

Kubbe "acknowledged that he knew the child's age" and didn't have parental permission to take him, charges say. Kubbe and the child each told police they had touched each other inappropriately "both over and under the clothing," charges state.

Charges state that Kubbe was carrying a loaded pistol when he was arrested and also had the weapon on him when he dropped the boys off at their homes Oct. 9.

Kubbe has been in the Weber County jail since Oct. 11. His bail is set for $600,000 cash.

Kubbe is scheduled for a bail hearing on Nov. 16 for the case involving the 11-year-old.

A search of court records shows that Kubbe pleaded guilty to class A misdemeanor attempted burglary in 2002.
