Police were looking for a shotgun-toting trio after they allegedly robbed a carload of teens in west Salt Lake City.

Salt Lake City police detectives said the suspects — described as Polynesian male adults — drove up in a light blue Dodge Stratus to where the three teens were parked, near 640 West and 300 South, about 10:30 p.m. Sunday.

One of the suspects produced the shotgun and fired it into the air, then pointed it at the victims, demanding their property.

After stealing several unspecified items, the robbers drove away.

Other than their alleged ethnicity, descriptions of the suspects were lacking. One man was said to be tall and thin, wearing a gray hooded sweatshirt; another suspect was short and heavy framed, clad in a dark hooded sweatshirt.
