A fire destroyed a Cedar City home Friday afternoon.

Crews responded to the blaze about 3 p.m. near 2200 North and 1000 East in the Fiddler's Canyon area, according to a news release from Cedar City police. Flames engulfed the house and a camp trailer on the property.

High winds complicated the operation, the release states, and the "intense heat" warped the siding on nearby homes. No injuries were reported.

There is no cost estimate for the damage, though the home was ruled a total loss. The cause of the blaze was under investigation.
