A driver died Monday morning after his car collided head on with a semitrailer truck near Heber City's airport, according to Utah Highway Patrol.

Joseph Forbush, 20, was traveling west on U.S. Highway 189 at 11:40 a.m. when his small SUV crossed into the eastbound lane and collided with an oncoming semi, troopers wrote. The Heber City man died at the scene.

Investigators don't know why the SUV crossed into oncoming traffic, troopers wrote, but they noted that the road was wet from rain when the crash occurred. They found no evidence that Forbush was impaired; investigators don't know whether he was wearing a safety belt. Traffic was diverted around the scene for about three hours.
