A man is dead after his truck rolled down an embankment in Carbon County on Sunday afternoon.

Decker Manning, 25, of Randlett, was driving his pick-up truck south on U.S. Highway 191 about 1 p.m., according to a new release from Utah Highway Patrol.

Because he was speeding, the release states, Manning was unable to negotiate a curve near mile marker 256. He crossed the center line and ran off the road to the left.

The truck then pitched down a steep embankment and came to rest in a river on its passenger side. Manning, who was not wearing a seat belt, was ejected from the truck and died from his injuries at the scene. He was the sole occupant.
