Though the Oxford English Dictionary calls it an "obsolete adjective," the term "nubivagant" — which means wandering in the clouds — aptly describes Utah weather this week.

Cloud cover and inversions will hang over most of the state as rainstorms and winds pick up mid-week.

Salt Lake City will see highs in the low-70s Saturday with partly cloudy skies. Lows will dip into the upper-40s. Though air quality is ranked as "good," according to a Department of Environmental Quality report, an inversion will cover the Salt Lake Valley. The National Weather Service says it should clear out by Monday night, but there will still be plenty of cloud-wandering opportunities during the remainder of the week as showers and thunderstorms move into the region Tuesday.

Utah's Dixie will remain cloudy throughout the week as well, with the possibility of showers Sunday and Monday. Saturday in St. George should see highs in the mid-80s and lows in the mid-50s.
