After a warm, windy Friday, Utahns should beware as higher gusts blow over the state.

A wind advisory Saturday afternoon and evening warns of southwest winds from 25 to 35 mph, with gusts up to 50 mph in west central and southwest Utah. Strong crosswinds on east-west routes might affect those towing trailers and operating high-profile vehicles, the National Weather Service says.

In Salt Lake and Tooele valleys, Saturday will be breezy and partly cloudy with a 20 percent chance of rain in the morning and sunshine in the afternoon. Highs will reach the upper 70s, and southerly winds will start out at 10 to 20 mph in the afternoon, growing to 15 to 25 mph later with gusts of about 30 mph. Saturday night will be breezy with partly cloudy skies and temperatures dropping into the mid-50s. More clouds will roll in after midnight, bringing with them a 20 percent chance of rain. Southerly winds will range from 15 to 25 mph with gusts near 35 mph.

Residents along the Wasatch Front should expect cloudy skies and a 50 percent chance of rain Sunday with cooler highs in the lower 60s. Sunday night will have an 80 percent chance of rain with lows in the upper 40s.

St. George and Dixie areas will experience partly cloudy skies in the morning and clearer skies as the day wears on. Highs will reach the mid-80s with southwesterly winds from 10 to 20 mph and gusts of about 30 mph in the late afternoon. Saturday night will bring clear skies and lows in the mid-50s.

Sunday, southern Utah residents can expect a sunny day with highs in the lower 80s and southwesterly winds from 10 to 20 mph late in the afternoon. The night will again be clear with lows in the mid-50s.

The Utah Division of Air Quality shows air ranging from green or good quality to yellow or moderate quality across the state.
