Two South Salt Lake residents were displaced after someone allegedly set fire to their home Wednesday, doing an estimated $100,000 worth of damage.

About 20 firefighters from multiple agencies extinguished the blaze, which occurred about 2:45 p.m., South Salt Lake Fire Deputy Terry Addison said, but the home, near 3500 South and 300 East, was not habitable after the incident.

A suspect was booked later that day in Salt Lake County jail for allegedly causing the fire, said Addison, but due to an active investigation, Addison did not name the person.

No one was injured in the fire, Addison said.
