A Millville man was fatally injured when his three-wheel Harley Davidson motorcycle overturned on northern Utah's State Route 165 Tuesday afternoon.

The Utah Highway Patrol reported that 67-year-old Vern Monson was southbound on SR-165, about 3 miles south of Logan, when he pulled into a left turn lane. He waited for traffic to clear, and then began to make his turn.

Witnesses told troopers that the vehicle went onto two of its three wheels, overturned and crashed into a curb and rock garden. Monson, who was not wearing a helmet, suffered severe head trauma, UHP said.

The cause of the accident remained under investigation, but troopers said Monson may have popped the clutch or otherwise accelerated too quickly into the turn.
