Salt Lake City attorney Greg Skordas expects that former Utah State University linebacker Torrey Green, charged with sexually assaulting five women, will be back in Utah within two weeks.

Green, 22, is currently being held in a California jail. He waived extradition Friday morning and is waiting for Utah authorities to come get him.

Skordas said that they expect to quickly address bail.

Green, who is from California, was arrested Thursday after being charged the same day in Utah's 1st District Court with four counts of rape, one count of aggravated kidnapping and one count of forcible sexual abuse for incidents that occurred in Logan and North Logan between November 2013 and November 2015.

Skordas said he couldn't comment on the case because he has not yet seen the evidence, but added that Green maintains his innocence.

The Cache County Attorney's Office said it investigated nine separate allegations against Green.

Four of those alleged victims went to police in 2015, and their stories were reported by The Salt Lake Tribune in July. Thursday's charges involve three of those women, plus two women who reported to police since July.

Court dates likely won't be scheduled until Green is extradited to Utah.

Cache County prosecutors said they were re-examining the cases reported in 2015 in July after The Tribune's initial story. Those investigations had languished and two of the cases had not been sent to prosecutors, according to police reports accessed by The Tribune in May.

Green began classes at Utah State in 2011. He's since graduated but remained on campus through spring 2016. In April 2016, he signed a free agent contract with the Atlanta Falcons. The NFL team waived him in August after learning that he was the subject of multiple sex assault investigations.

Public relations firm ZTPR began representing Green in August after he was cut from the Falcons. ZTPR's Zack Teperman said Saturday that he will continue working with Green.
