A Logan woman has succumbed to injuries she suffered in a northern Utah crash that claimed the life of her infant son last week.

The Utah Highway Patrol confirmed that 26-year-old Norma Barriga was taken off life support Sunday at McKay Dee Hospital in Ogden. She had been in critical condition after her Hyundai sedan was struck by a pickup truck on State Road 165 in Providence last Thursday.

That same crash also mortally injured 3-month-old Andy Barriga. He died Friday at Primary Children's Hospital in Salt Lake City.

Troopers say the crash occurred about 5 p.m. Thursday when a southbound Dodge pickup truck struck the northbound Hyundai as it turned left at 1700 South.

The driver of the pickup, a pregnant female, was transported to the hospital in serious condition with broken bones and cuts, UHP said.

The collision remained under investigation.
