A Draper couple was displaced after a small fire burned in the attic of their townhome early Saturday.

Crews responded to the blaze about 12:05 a.m., in the middle of a five-unit townhome near 12000 South and 160 East, said Unified Fire spokesman Taylor Sandstrom.

The couple and neighboring residents safely evacuated the complex, Sandstrom said, and firefighters quickly extinguished the blaze.

The house was not a total loss, though the fire caused $50,000 in damage. The cause was unknown.
