Unified police are searching for a man they believe robbed a Wells Fargo Bank in Taylorsville last week.

The suspect, whom police describe as a Hispanic man in his mid-20s, walked into the bank at 3981 W. 4700 South at 12:24 p.m. on Aug. 15, and approached the teller with a note, a police news release said.

The note indicated the man had a gun and demanded money, the release said. The clerk gave him an undisclosed amount of cash.

The suspect then fled the bank on foot with the cash, and no vehicle was seen, the release said. Officers immediately started searching the area for the suspect, but were unable to locate him, the release said. No one was injured during the robbery.

The man, who stands about 5-feet-4-inches and has a thin build is believed to have been involved in several other bank robberies throughout the Salt Lake Valley, police say.

During this robbery, he was wearing a long-sleeve gray shirt, black pants, black shoes and a tan fedora-style hat.

UPD detectives hope that as they release surveillance photos, someone might recognize the man and help bring him to justice.

Anyone with information as to the identity of the man is asked to call the UPD Violent Crimes Unit at 385-468-9819.
